16 Mar 2008 - Family Service

Many thanks to Peter Stone for working with the children who put their names forward to take part in the initiative, launched earlier this year, to link into the Family Service at St. Mary’s Church, Berkley.

The enthusiastic children who have attended this group took part in the Family Service on 16^th March by performing a short play about Palm Sunday.

They told us how Jesus came into Jerusalem, riding on a donkey, and how the people gathering to celebrate “Passover” greeted him by shouting “Hosanna” and waved palm branches.   This is why we remember Palm Sunday and are given a cross made of palm leaf at Church on this day.  

The presentation was very good, especially the narration.   Well done to all who took part.
